About Libraryland

Libraryland was a long-running project created and maintained by full-time librarians with a passion for storytelling, outreach, and innovation in the library world. Originally developed as a resource focused on children’s books and youth services, the site grew into a broader digital magazine dedicated to library marketing, library development, and in-depth book reviews.

Over the years, Libraryland evolved alongside the profession itself, reflecting shifts in how libraries connect with their communities. Articles explored creative programming ideas, branding strategies, reader engagement, and emerging trends in libraries. At its core, the mission remained consistent: to educate, inform, and inspire—while keeping a sense of personality, curiosity, and fun.

An important extension of this work was The Shy Librarian, a print publication that highlighted cutting-edge library programs and innovative services from across the United States. This publication showcased real-world examples of librarians bringing creativity and impact to their communities, often in unexpected ways.

That was the heralded, passionate past. Today, LIBRARYLAND can be yours. Reshape Libraryland into an even bigger vision which spans the world. There's Disneyland, Storyland, Legoland, Wonderland, Neverland, and Adventureland. Isn't it time to take Libraryland to its rightful place on that same pedestal? Correct answer: It is!
